The EGMO is going virtual! This decision was made by the organising committee on 25 March, after the physical event was cancelled because of the Covid-19 virus.
Organiser Quintijn Puite says: “We want to give these girls, who are mostly sitting at home and who prepared for the EGMO for months already, a chance to compete. It will give them something to look forward to.” A virtual EGMO will make the time at home pass in a fun way, by meeting others and sharing this experience. Even though it won’t be happening in Egmond aan Zee, as originally planned, it will still be a great event.
Through social media the girls will be able to interact and we will organise many online extra’s. For example, there will be a pubquiz and a forum where contestants can discuss the exercises after the contest.
